This policy explains how Sunshine Window Works handles information in two contexts: the public website at https://www.sunshinewindowworks.com (this site) and the internal business software used to run day-to-day operations. The website section applies to you if you're a visitor, and is what most people are looking for.
Website Privacy Policy
Information we collect
When you fill out the quote or contact form on this site, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, phone number, email address, street address, the services you're interested in, and any notes you add. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment information through this website.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit to respond to your quote request, schedule a walkthrough or service, and communicate with you about your project. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing to you beyond following up on your own request.
Third-party services we use
This site relies on a few third-party services to operate:
- Web3Forms processes and delivers quote and contact form submissions to us. Form data passes through their service to reach our inbox.
- Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use this site (pages viewed, general location, device type). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
- Cal.com powers our walkthrough-booking link. When you click "Book a Time," you leave this site and interact directly with Cal.com, which has its own privacy policy.
Each of these services may use cookies or similar technology as part of how they operate. We don't control their practices directly; check their own privacy policies for details.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies associated with Google Analytics to understand site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks analytics tracking, without affecting your ability to use the site or submit a quote request.
Data retention
We keep quote and contact form submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request and, if you become a customer, to maintain a record of the work performed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
Internal Business Software
This section covers separate internal business software used by Sunshine Window Works ("Sunshine Tool" and its companion field app) to run day-to-day operations, including customer records, job scheduling, estimating, bookkeeping, and a QuickBooks Online integration. It is not a public product or service offered to other businesses or the general public, and does not involve data from website visitors.
Who uses this software
This software is used solely by the owner/operator of Sunshine Window Works and, where applicable, employees acting on the business's behalf. It is not distributed, licensed, or made available to unrelated third parties.
What data is accessed
When connected to QuickBooks Online, this software reads and writes the following record types:
- Customer contact records
- Estimates
- Invoices
- Payments
This data belongs to Sunshine Window Works's own QuickBooks Online company. It is the business's own customer and financial records, not data collected from website visitors or third parties.
Where data is stored
Data synced from QuickBooks is stored locally on the business owner's own devices (desktop and mobile), and backed up to a private Cloudflare R2 storage bucket controlled solely by Sunshine Window Works. QuickBooks OAuth connection credentials are stored in the operating system's secure credential storage (Keychain) on each device, never in plain text.
How data is used
Synced data is used only to run Sunshine Window Works's own scheduling, estimating, and invoicing workflow. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose outside operating the business.
Third-party sharing
Data is not shared with any third party except the service providers necessary to operate the software itself: Intuit (QuickBooks Online API, for the integration described above) and Cloudflare (R2 object storage, used only as a private backup/sync destination controlled by Sunshine Window Works).
Disconnecting
The QuickBooks Online connection can be disconnected at any time from the software's own settings, which revokes the stored authorization token.
